It's very rare that heart disease causes pain when breathing in. It is far more likely to be a muscular pain in your rib/chest wall area.

However, as with all medical things you need to get it checked out by a professional. Make an appointment with your doctor asap or if you are really worried about this then take yourself off to the hospital.

It is very possible that your chest pains are not heart related. I get the same feeling from asthma, when I breathe in it hurts. This is b/c the bronchial tubes are near the heart so it is easy to mistake the feeling you have as being from the heart.

There are many other possibilities, like panic attack.

I think it would be wise to see your doctor. You'll probably find out that it is not heart disease. But whatever it is the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor.

The chest pain and breathing difficulty is usually the symptom of panic attack. The panic attack is because of the tension. The panic attack shows the symptoms such as breathing difficulty, chest pain, nausea, abdominal problems, sweating etc. But the chest pain while breathing can be because of the pulmonary problems also. when your respiratory system has some problem the breathing will not be easy, so it cause chest pain. So, for the confirmation of the disease you can consult a doctor.

I think you might be overreacting by thinking that you might have heart disease. There could be many things which may have caused the chest pain.

If it keeps on going, then you'd better tell someone or see a doctor.

Anxiety, acid reflux or muscle strain are the most likely causes at 17. About 30 years too young to have any heart problems.
