Well how much of a change is it??? There are many factors that go into a BP..such as diet(caffeine and salt will increase it), activity at that time, stress, lack of sleep, physical stature(obese vs thin) etc etc...some people have a normal BP and then when theyre at the doc's offive it spikes(white coat syndrome).....like I said there's many reasons for it to be elevated...that reading is a bit high but its not dangerously high for a normal sized person..Im petite so for me it would be extremely high...best thing to do is have your bp taken randomly(daily if possible) for a few weeks and write them down...then go to your doctor with the results....they will then decide if you need medication for it..sometimes just diet alone can change your results...like cut out alot of salt,(thats a big factor for alot of people) ,get away from fried fatty foods, there are many ways to help your BP..these are just a fw ways....

First of all, there is no such thing as "the blood pressure", so "it" can't be either high nor low. There are four different pressures, all of which perform different functions, behave differently, don't rise and fall together, and they simply can't be lumped together and called "the Blood Pressure" That's just silly, and sloppy science. The way the cardiovascular system works is match "supply" with "demand, by varying Mean Arterial Pressure while also varying the impedance to blood flow by dilating or constricting blood vessels. It does this by varying both the pulse rate and the amount of blood pumped out at each stroke. So the Mean Pressure can NEVER be too high, - but of course -in cardiac failure, it can be too low. The brain sets the level of Mean pressure, which is {diastolic plus one-third of pulse-pressure} -pulse pressure being the difference between systolic (the top one) and diastolic (the lower one). It sets it at a level appropriate to deliver the correct bood supply to all the organs, including the heart, and the brain itself. Sometimes, in order to do this, higher than confortable levels of systolic pressures are the result. I don't know what age you are, but a rough rule of thumb for your systolic is "100 + your age".** (see source reference below). If it's wildly above that, it should be of concern. I swear by homeopathy, but only when orthodox medicine has failed you. So go see your doctor, and get the best advice and don't substitute homeopathic remedies until orthodoxy has failed. It probably will, because even the drugs companies admit that most of their medicines don't actually work! Then return to homeopathy. Inability to sleep has nothing to do with hypertension, and the pain in the back of your neck too is irrelevant. Get your doctor to investigate those separately. Pain relievers are mostly safe and effective, and sedatives to allow you to sleep (on a temporary basis) will assist.

on how many occations is it high if this is a one off them dont worry about it it is say the 3rd high reading then you need to see a Dr. Depending on your age will depend on what they will do. In england the drug of choice to start with is bendroflumizide 2.5mg.

Also you need to look at your diet and lifestyle. are you over weight? what food do you eat? do you exercise? is there a family history of high blood pressure? do you have diabetes or heart problems? Are youstressed at the momment?

So unless you can answer these questions no one will be able to answer your question.

The blood pressure is better Jenni, but it's still considered elevated. Get checked out with your own physician.

Amy is right and it is important with questions like this that you ask your doctor.

Hope you are okay.

You should eat a healthy balanced diet and you need to exercise safely.

This is a border case and nothing to worry.

But keep checking your B.P. regularly and if you continue to have this reading, start taking "Losar-25" regularly.(Losaratan Potassium Tablet)
