i had my ecg result, and it came out that i have a left ventricular hypertrophy by voltage criteria, and then, when i do my echo, the result came out NORMAL, i'am confused of having these different results as i have a congenital heart enlargement, but fortunately, the last time i have my heart attack was when i was 3 years old and a half, and stop my medicine when i was 6 years old, since then, it never came back, i never had a heart attack till now.. now, i wanted know if it is really possible that the result of the ecg and echo is not related or different? how it should be? i'am so confused of having this different results, i don't want to think that the result of my echo was a mistake. please help. tnx a lot.

the settings of ecg machine might be false, in thin iduviduals also you can get high voltage, you can believe the echo result.

Yes they can be different which is why they did the echo.

The LVH BY VOLTAGE means that some of the peaks on your ECG were very tall. This can indicate LVH but that has to be confoirmed with echo. It can also be something as simple as the person being very thin, but again you need echo to confirm.

Echo looks at the structure of the heart so can make acurte measurements.

Without someone knowing your exact heart history and knowledge of how well your left ventricle functions, there is no one on this forum that could give you accurate advice on this. You need to be asking your doctor these questions. If you have already had your appointment and did not ask, you can call their office, talk with your cardiologist's nurse who will relay your question and then get back to you with the answer from your doctor. Then, you will have correct information on your question about your test results.
