Depends what the rash is really, does it look like hives? Does he have any other symptoms? Try giving him an antihistamine and see if that helps, if not then make an appointment with your GP.

An itchy rash with no other symptoms it could be an allergy, hives.

There are many causes of hives including foods, drugs, infections, and diseases. Though there are many potential causes, in the majority of cases of hives, the cause is unknown.

If you have anything like Benadryl either ointment or oral, try that. Ask your pharmacist.

If he developes any other symptoms at all call your doctor's office or the emergency room. If it is caused by infection they will advise you whether to attend or wait for a home visit.

He's had it for 24 hour hours now? Or do you mean yesterday night like it's the morning now? How long has he had it? If it's been there a few hours, you could probably conclude that it won't progress into anaphylaxic shock. Get home some benadryl and take him to the doctor first thing in the morning.

If he has other symptoms, such as a fever or shortness of breath, he should probably be seen immediately. If not, it is probably safe to just give him an antihistamine pill and wait until morning.

However, I'm not a physician, and I would leave the ultimate decision to him.

its hives. its an allergic reaction to something usually happens if you eat shell fish or just from the grass. No need for emergency but take him to the doctors and get medication.

If he has feeling of chest tightness or even shortness or difficulty of breathing you can bring it NOW.

Well if its not, just itchiness, its not necessary.

Admit your husband urgently to the emergency room. They will give epinephrine injection and control the situation.
