Is that bad? What comes along with that type of blood pressure. Also, severe chest pains along with this. Can anyone tell me what's going on.

Are you sure the Diastolic (lower number) is 10, that doesn't sound right at all.
The optimal Blood Pressure is 120/80 and stage one Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) begins at 140/90. It's unhealthy to have high blood pressure as this can lead to Heart disease and strokes. Perhaps you should visit your Doctor for more advice as you may need to go on medication if it is really high.
Also a thing to bear in mind. Some people get what is known as "white coat syndrome" so if they have their blood pressure taken, the anxiety of it all causes the reading to be high.
A natural way of reducing High Blood Pressure is regular cardiovascular exercise and a healthy low sodium, low saturated fat diet. High salt in your diet can cause High BP too.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Yes it can. I was just recently diagnosed with HBP also. My Doc prescribed Norvasc. It seems to work really well until...I go to the Doctor for a BP check and then it goes way up again..He has come to the conclusion that I also have "White Coat Syndrome" scared to death of Drs.. Maybe you have this also.. I always..ALWAYS get shakey, sweaty, rapid hear rate, etc. as soon as I step into the Dr.office..So yes, it can definitely affect your BP.. Nervousness plays a BIG role in the fluctuation of your Blood Pressure.. Good Luck~

I would think that your B/P is 179/110, this very high, you should make an early appointment to see your doctor, take your own B/P machine with you so that you can use it as well, then compare the results, this will reduce the conclusion of 'white coat syndrome'. Your doctor will use the findings to decide what hypotensive therapy (ie. to reduce your B/P) that you need and to arrange any further tests if required.

It is physically impossible have a BP of 170/10. This reading cannot possibly be correct.

If your diastolic pressure is only 10, you are on the verge of unconciousness and death. While you still can, call for emergency help.
