"Acid indigestion" don't mean jack. It means you got an upset stomach, it is not specific diagnosis. If you keep having stomach pain relieved somewhat by antacids, then you may have a stomach or duodenal ulcer. You need to get checked for helicobacter infection. If you got that, you take triple antibiotic therapy for it for 3 weeks. Otherwise, best to have barium swallow xrays to check it out, or even endoscopy by GI doctor. Of course, your symptoms may not be stomach at all, but rather due to gall stones or inflamed gall bladder. Sonogram of gall bladder would help check that out. The 4 F's of a bad gall bladder are classically Fat, Female, Forty-ish, Fertile (meaning she's had kids); but anyone can get a bad gall bladder. Also, acute pancreatitis from alcoholism can cause epigastric pain, esp. on eating. Alcoholism and taking too many aspirins or aspirin like drugs or steroids can cause stomach ulcers or erosions which can manifest as epigastric pain on eating. Lastly, angina or heart attack can manifest as epigastric pain.
