My blood pressure has been running on the high side for about 2 weeks now, but I also have been fighting off a virus for that time period. Should I be concerned that my blood pressure is up, or could it be because I haven't been feeling good.
Sometimes I can hear my heart beating in my ear, but I have fluid in my ears from the virus so could be from that.

My mom has high blood pressure all the time even on meds. I monitor her blood pressure for her. It is always higher when she's sick. I know if the top number is 180 you are suppose to go to the emergency room. The thing with your ear I'm not so sure about. You should call your doctor just to be safe.

Don't mess around with high blood pressure, if it is high, sick or not go to your Dr. Or at least call and let them decide whether you need to go in or not.

it would depend what your baseline is. What is your normal BP reading at rest? if it goes higher 20 for both systole and diastole, even after taking meds that should serve as a caution. if it goes higher than that and you feel other symptoms, you have to seek medical help.

Top number above 180-------Bottom number above 100..... See your doctor as soon as possible
